Dominican Republic language

The Dominican Republic is a country located on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean region. The official language of the Dominican Republic is Spanish, but the country also has its own Dominican dialect.

The Dominican dialect is a mix of Spanish and African influences. It is similar to other Caribbean Spanish dialects, but with its own unique twists. For example, the word for “dog” in Dominican Spanish is “perro”, but in the Dominican dialect it is “chivo”.

The Dominican Republic has a long history of immigration, and as a result, there are also many other languages spoken in the country. The most common non-Spanish languages spoken in the Dominican Republic are Haitian Creole, English, and French.
