Cabarete is a beautiful town in the Dominican Republic that is known for its stunning beaches and great nightlife. However, in recent months, the town has been dealing with a major outbreak of the coronavirus. As a result, the Dominican government has put in place a number of measures to try and control the spread of the virus, including a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all visitors.
One of the requirements for visitors to the Dominican Republic is that they must take a Covid-19 test upon arrival. I took my test at the airport before I even got to my hotel. The test is a simple nasal swab and only takes a few minutes. I was happy to get it out of the way and I’m glad the Dominican Republic is taking such measures to try and keep the virus under control.
Now that I’m quarantining in my hotel room, I’ve been trying to make the best of it. I’ve been reading, watching movies, and taking advantage of the hotel’s online workout classes. I’m also looking forward to exploring Cabarete once I’m able to leave my room. I’ve heard there are some great restaurants and bars here that I can’t wait to check out.
Overall, I’m glad the Dominican Republic is taking the Covid-19 pandemic seriously and I feel safe being here. If you’re thinking of coming to Cabarete, I say go for it! Just be sure to get your test done before you travel.
