If you’re looking for a laid-back beach town in the Dominican Republic, then head to Sosua. This beach town is located on the north coast of the island, about 10 miles east of Puerto Plata. Cabarete, on the other hand, is a more lively beach town located about 30 miles west of Sosua. Both towns offer great beaches, but Cabarete is better known for its nightlife and water sports.
