It is with great sadness that we report the death of yet another Dominican Republic tourist.
According to various news outlets, a 55-year-old woman from New York died while vacationing in the Dominican Republic on January 1, 2022. The cause of death has not yet been determined, but the woman’s family believes she may have been poisoned.
This is just the latest in a string of deaths of tourists in the Dominican Republic over the past few years. In 2018, five American tourists died while vacationing in the country, and in 2019, another three died.
The Dominican Republic is a popular tourist destination, but it seems that something is wrong. What is causing all of these deaths? Is it something in the water? Is it a crime wave targeting tourists? Or is something else going on?
We may never know the answer, but one thing is for sure: the Dominican Republic is no longer the safe haven it once was. If you’re considering a trip to the Dominican Republic, be sure to exercise caution and be aware of the risks.
